From expat tot expert

As an experience expat/expert, I got to know all facets of life as an expat.

Because I have lived abroad myself, I know exactly what it is the expat needs before they do. That’s why I love my job.

With three children born abroad, one in Paris and two in Cape Town.
We have lived in 5 countries, on 2 continents, studied in Paris at the Sorbonne, worked in Cape Town and in Casablanca.

When you have a partner who travels a lot, you have to manage many things on
your own whilst being on the other side of the world with three young children.

It has not always been easy; every country has its own rules and regulations, and a company like P&D Expat Care
would have come in extremely handy.

That’s why, when we arrived in Casablanca for our next adventure,
I built up the experience to guide other expats into their "new" life.

We supported our clients with; familiarizing  them with another culture, helping  them with childcare, schools, etc., but also calling the paediatrician in an emergency if  a parent was panicking, negotiating the best rental price, buying a new car, you name it, I was there to assist.

Only then you realise how meaningful my job was, and only then I realised how rewarding it was to me.

The variety, the international aspect, being able to guide people through a big step in their lives, my organizational skills, my knowledge of several languages and my cultural knowledge, all those trades together have shaped me into the best person for this job. With this experience, I can now assist you or your client so much better.

We returned to the Netherlands just before Covid hit. After the children were settled, and I had more time to start to work again. I started at my current employer, P&D Expat Care, and have been working there with great pleasure.

Despite the fact that we are living “the Dutch life” in the Netherlands again, I still maintain vivid and warm memories of those adventures.

Hope to pass on these warm feelings to our expats!
