Shaping a new but familiar life

We received a request from a university in the middle of the country to assist an international employee and his family with the arrival in the Netherlands.

Departure point

It was a family with 2 young children, for whom moving from green and spacious Canada to the unknown Netherlands was very exciting.

Our approach

The ideal home had already been found before they came to the Netherlands. A nice family home in a neighbourhood with children, schools and childcare. We took care of all formalities and support in the search for suitable childcare. We attended the on-site discussions, not only as an interpreter for the teacher, but also to reassure the parents and explain the Dutch customs. The day to day life at a childcare centre is really different than in Canada.

Eventually we found a beautiful child care for the youngest child, in the middle of the woods. The oldest daughter went to the language school first. We were able to combine this nicely so that she could remain at the same location for regular primary education. We also found a horse riding school nearby for the mother and dance class for the youngest. The family now has a pleasant new life in green surroundings and the father can continue to do his work with peace of mind.

For an international software company in South Holland, we had the pleasure of supporting a highly skilled migrant and his family in setting up their new life in the Netherlands.
